Just Like Magic!

We have really adjusted to our new life.  I hardly think twice about hanging every piece of laundry up to dry.  Washing dishes by hand is just a daily chore.  Our small flat allows us to talk to each other even though we are not in the same room.  I'm the girl that can never make a decision, especially on what to wear, but here I don't have that problem since there are a limited number of choices hanging in the closet.  What I'm trying to say, is our simple life is beginning to suit us well.  BUT there is one thing I will never become accustomed to.  I know, I am a spoiled American, but I just cannot do without having a car.  Don't get me wrong, I really do appreciate the bus system.  It's quite efficient and most of the time is very reliable.  But here's the thing, you don't realize how much you miss a car until you go grocery shopping!

Our grocery store is a little less than three-quarters of mile away.  We always walk since it really doesn't make since to take the bus two stops.  But when you load yourself down with 4 shopping bags, it feels like 40 miles!  (Looks like I'm not cut out to backpack across Europe unless someone else carries my pack.  Jared says I should buy an alpaca.)  The first couple of times I was in the store, I noticed a few people with their suitcases, which I found quite strange.  After further investigation these people became geniuses in my book, they were loading their purchases in their suitcases to roll home!  Why didn't I think of that!

So I made use of the rolling cart I found in a closet in the flat.  It didn't hold as much as I had hoped, and even when it was full (and super awkward) I still had to carry two of the bags by hand.  However, I have since learned of a service that will change my life forever...or at least for the next year...grocery delivery!

I simply made a few clicks on the computer, gave them a few extra pounds and ta da, just like magic, our groceries were delivered!  That's right, they just appeared right at my door.  Everything was in perfect condition and better yet, I didn't have to leave my flat.  Take a look!

Yes, that is Dr. Pepper you see peeking out of a bag!
